The A grade roster should be largely unchanged from the previous year, while Adam Blacka has taken over the captaincy of the squad.
Outgoing captain Pete Bennett was praised for his work with the club over the last few seasons, but was looking to spend more time with his young family.
Stevenson said the club will still keep a strong rank of players in the top grade.
“We’ll be fairly similar to last year from what I can gather,” Stevenson said.
Training has been a bit quiet in the lead-up, but the core group will be present for the season launch.
The club also has some potential new players, but Stevenson said he wasn’t 100 per cent sure yet.
“At this point in time it will take us a few weeks to get into our play mode,” he said.
Without any Twenty20 rounds this year, the club will look for a bit of regularity throughout the one-day season that runs up to Christmas.
The Tathra club has been widely regarded as a powerhouse of the format and Stevenson is confident the run will continue.
“We’ve probably won the last five one-day titles – our record there is exemplary,” Stevenson said.
“I think we’d really like to win the two-day title this year, which will be a bit of a focus for us after Christmas.
“We were probably a bit disappointed to get beaten in the semi-final last year and we want to fix that.”
The club boasts a depth of quality players in the batting, and bowling order and will be a team to contend with across the two major formats.
“We have high expectations to be there in the games at the end of the year,” Stevenson said.
“With the quality of players that we’ve got we would have to have those aspirations.”
The club hasn’t paid much attention to what other teams could bring to the table this year, but chose to focus on its own ranks and getting a strong outfit together.
The club will also include a C grade roster, and for the first time in a few years will have an under 12s and under 14s junior squads.
“We have a really good core group of 10 young blokes around 15 to 16 that played last year,” Stevenson said.
“They’re keen to play again and I think with another year under their belt, some of these young fellas by next season might be more than capable of playing A grade.
“There could be a few opportunities for a couple of them to get games this year as well.”
The Sea Eagles will launch the A grade season with a match against Pambula on Saturday at Lawrence Park from 1pm.
