Janet King and Jade Allen both featured in the ACT/ Southern Zone side that took part.
Janet was also named captain of the side.
The team played four matches of Twenty20 over the carnival with a surprising tie result from the first game.
Both teams finished on 63 runs when ACT Southern was run out in the final over.
Unfortunately the team suffered losses in the following three rounds with impressively strong competition.
Far South Coast Cricket Association publicity officer Dave Allen said despite the result, the team will be able to return even stronger next year.
“It’s a very young squad so the bulk of them will be eligible for the carnival next year and have gained a lot of valuable experience.”
The valley duo performed strongly, with Janet scoring 18 runs against the strong Sydney roster in their clash.
She also claimed four wickets for the competition with her bowling.
Meanwhile, Jade was ranked number three in the wicket-takers list for the entire carnival, which was a great achievement.
She took six wickets during the contest and top scored with 10 runs against the New Coasters.
Organisers commended her efforts and said it was a phenomenal feat as she is just 11 years old.
Just one run separated the sides in the match, but the ACT Southern squad had given up some easy wickets to lose by the narrow margin.
In the second round, the powerhouse Riverina team proved too strong for the combined roster, winning by almost 70 runs.
A dominating opening partnership put 90 on the board and a total of 127, while the ACT/ Southern side mustered just 64 in the run chase.
The final round was much closer, but again the side was shown up by a classy display from the City roster.
Following the carnival Janet advances to the NSW under 15s state challenge carnival later this month.
A team will be picked to represent NSW to play in the national under 15s championships that will be held in Hobart.
Allen said girls cricket is on the rise and the FSC association has embraced the opportunities.
“There are now some great opportunities for girls cricket both in regards training squads and representative playing opportunities,” Allen said.
“The FSCCA at their most recent meeting resolved to hold some girls only matches locally later in the season.”
Local junior competitions are set to get underway later this month.
Information about girls games will be published at a later date.
