Some readers might recognise Platinum Traffic Control Services’ Stu Bertram, whose quick banter and sense of humour have helped his team keep the traffic flowing down Carp St this week.
“It’s just a matter of keeping people in the loop and keeping them happy,” he said.
Mr Bertram said that while some drivers have been unhappy at the sometime lengthy delays, most are happy to have a quick chat.
“I’m giving driver’s confidence which you have to do when dealing with the public,” Mr Bertram said.
The Bega local has been heard all week offering directions to drivers as the town's roads are resealed and repaired.
“The older generation go the same way every day and with the work going they’ve had to take detours, and I apologise for this,” he said.
“And, some people are travellers who don’t know their way around town, so I’m happy to help them out.”
