All diversions have been lifted and traffic conditions have returned to normal.
UPDATE, 12.30pm:
Traffic has started to flow again, slowly, around a crash site on Brown Mountain.
Earlier Friday morning two semi-trailers travelling in opposite directions on the Snowy Mountains Hwy, crashed near Pipers Lookout at the top of Brown Mountain west of Bemboka.
Both male drivers, estimated to be in their 30s, appeared unhurt, although one was taken by Ambulance paramedics to Bega Hospital as a precaution after complaining of chest pains.
On site to assess the scene were NSW Police, Ambulance, Rural Fire Service members from Bemboka and Nimmitabel, and Roads and Maritime Service personnel.
Bemboka RFS captain John Inskip said around 7.45am a truck carrying a load of grain travelling down the mountain and an empty truck heading up collided near Pipers Lookout.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene to find the two trucks wedged together and bobcats were called in to assist with the recovery.
Traffic was stopped in both directions for several hours, before being allowed to slowly pass the crash site again around 12.30pm.
Mr Inskip said it would still take a few more hours to complete the recovery and for traffic to return to normal.
