South East Local Land Services project officer Shannon Brennan said the bamboo was a highly invasive environmental weed.
"The bamboo has created an impenetrable network of roots, heavy leaf litter and dense shade that is at odds with the naturally occurring River Oak Forest," she said.
“Once the bamboo is controlled local native trees and shrubs will be planted to provide a valuable habitat for native fauna."
The bamboo removal will be undertaken over the coming weeks.
It will be mulched then left to re-shoot before being sprayed.
