IMB Community Foundation has announced it will donate $22,700 to seven Far South Coast projects in its 2015 round of funding.
Bega IMB branch manager Cathy Benzie said she was delighted the Men’s Shed application had been successful and she looked forward to seeing the arrival of new safety equipment including fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and signage.
“The Men’s Shed project is of great community benefit and I am pleased we were able to assist them so they can continue the amazing work they do helping others,” Ms Benzie said.
IMB Community Foundation has donated $7.6million to 500 projects in the communities in which it operates since its inception in 1999.
Community Foundation chairman Kieran Biddle paid tribute to all the organisations that applied for funding this year, saying he was humbled and inspired by the dedication of the people involved in the hundreds of projects he had learnt about during the process.
“There are just so many projects that make a huge difference to our local communities and I would like to recognise all of them and thank them for their contribution,” Mr Biddle said.
“Every year, we have a very hard job deciding which projects we will fund and this year was no different.
“I would like to congratulate the Bega Men’s Shed project as one of the 50 recipients for the 2015 IMB Community Foundation funding.
“We look forward to seeing how our support will assist the project in helping others in the community,” Mr Biddle said.
