THE finalists in South East Arts' youth short film competition YoofTube have been announced and include several entries from Bega, Tathra and Pambula.

The finalists are:
- LLDD by Rhys Davies of Bega;
- Spoken by Lucca Paijmans, Jake Whyman and Hamish Bailey, Tathra;
- Sam Bailey - Artist by Lucca Paijmans, Tathra;
- What You've Always Known by Georgia Brian of Pambula Beach;
- Illusion by Jared Tucker, Tura Beach;
- Isolated by Sam Delle Vergin and William Hassan of Mirador;
- Pepidemi Mondiale (The Worldwide Epidemic) by the Eden Marine High School Year 10 French class;
- The Assistant's Mistake by Anna Auer, Zach Hooker, Alicia Munt and Lisa Bond of Pambula;
- Daydreaming by Allie Pierce, Malua Bay;
- The South Coast with Two Mates by Lachlan Callender of Bodalla;
- Virus by James Hines, Jindabyne;
- Hold On by Samantha Sly from Narooma; and
- Famous in a Week by Vincent Edwards and Thomas Gardner of Tuross Head.
"We received more entries this year than ever before; the standard is getting higher and higher,” general manager of South East Arts Andrew Gray said.
“These finalists represent the cream of the crop, they are creative, technical and can tell a great story, all in under seven minutes each."
Finalists are vying for over $5000 worth of prizes in cash and development workshops from author JD Shaw, Bega Valley Shire Council, Eurobodalla Shire Council, ABC Open, Gooseboy Productions, Oh'Allmhurain Films and South East Arts.
Finalists' short films will be screened and winners announced at the awards night and free public screenings at Merimbula, Narooma and Batemans Bay on Monday, September 7.
Tickets are free but you must book them.
Screenings take place at The Picture Show Man, Merimbula, The Kinema in Narooma and at the Bay City Cinemas in Batemans Bay.
All films are equivalent to a PG rating or less, but note some youth issues are addressed such as depression, bullying and suicide.
