Generously sponsored by Pat and Talia Jubb, the event attracted a solid field.
As in previous years, relatives Michael and Helen Rouse from Tumut and Bruce and Mat Wilesmith from Temora attended to commemorate the well-remembered founding member of the club.
Local shooters were joined by visitors from Mallacoota, Bombala and Cooma.
Sunday was also the second of the club’s new shooter and novice training days and it was good to see four new shooters attend.
Members thanked A grade shooters Mark Gschwend and Gavin Moulding, who gave up their day to provide instruction for the new shooters.
Gary Martin also provided his services as trapper for the day after already taking part in an event in Cooma on Saturday.
The standout score on the day was achieved by Bruce Wilesmith in A grade with 91 percent of targets hit.
Meanwhile, scores across most grade were highly consistent including the C grade contenders.
After the round, Michael and Helen presented club people from previous years with very attractive engraved glassware for their part in promoting the club and maintaining Neil’s legacy.
Shirl Brady was the first club person to be recognised for her significant contribution to the club during 2011.
In the shoot raffle, Jimmy Drakos missed the needed targets and gladly accepted the consolation feat tray from Bennys Butchery.
The club’s next meet will be on August 23 from 10am.
The round will be the 100-target handicap for the Cheryl Brady Memorial, sponsored by Nev and Shirl Brady of Bermagui Welding.
