Doing your job well doesn't require a spin doctor, it is self-evident. 

A taxpayer-funded regulatory body ought to be focused on fulfilling its responsibilities rather than spending our money telling us about it.

BVSC could start with keeping our town clock working, a memorial to a resident that served this community selflessly. 

Or provide a safe pedestrian crossing at the courthouse over Gipps St.

Or provide a stop or give way sign and line marking at the intersection of Upper St and East St near the showground.

Removing the dead branch hanging for months like the Sword of Damacles over Tathra Rd near the Glen Mia entrance. 

Actions speak louder than words.

I live just up the road from the skate park and I feel that if there are lights, there will be more trouble with young kids that do not use the park for skate use.

I have trouble nearly every night with bad language and cars doing burnouts.

I feel the lights would be great for competition skate events, but be turned off after these events.

It is bad enough with McDonald’s on the corner let alone flood lights at the skate park.

I refer to the Bega Valley Shire Council’s notice in the Bega District News (Friday, July 10) titled “chemical disposal dates” for Saturday, July 25, at the Merimbola St car park, Pambula.

The collection of all types of poisonous and deadly toxic substances and chemicals that include flammable liquids or solids and gases or non-flammable solids or gasses and to authorise a retrieval site adjacent to the children’s playground, the bus and coach terminal and Pambula public toilets is in my opinion a gross lack of duty of care by the Bega Valley Shire Council.

If the council is not interested in the health and safety of young children and their mothers then I believe it’s time that all female and children’s organisations should be up in arms about the council’s lack of concern and complain to their state and federal members of parliament.

Hell bent on destroying our home,

As for Minister Hunt, with his cunning stunt, 

Don't treat us as fools, though you try,

“I LIKE BARNABY JOYCE”, but he has no voice, 

“Still he is a really nice guy” 

 And poor Jolly Joe, the real estate pro, 

Has no clue how his measures can hurt, 

Level playing fields out, if you aint got no clout,

Poor people don't drive, he'll assert.

The rich get richer and the poor get the picture, 

Our once fair country in doubt,

With negative gearing, there is no hearing

For those who live without.

Can I charter a chopper, $5000 a whopper, 

to get to the party on time,

Inexcusable waste, Madam Speaker your haste, 

Costing taxpayers oh what a crime.

What a sorry mess, in this country we're blessed, 

Still this government serves but a few, 

No vision, no light, just a terrible plight

More homeless, less fauna; won't do.

Our beautiful shores are blemished by bores, 

Seeking to gild their own nest, 

The longer in power, will turn out quite sour, 

Thwarting attempts for the BEST.

Your vote is a changer, don't be a stranger, 

Use it to better our place, 

Our leader is key, to humanity, 

To smile with dignified grace.

The world is sure in a mess.  

As I think of this, I believe that if people looked to God and what is ahead of their lives they would stop the mugging, murdering, arson, home invasion and so on.

For example, Hebrews 9:27 tells us "Just as it is appointed for men once to die, after that the judgement".

If they realised that at the end of their lives we all will stand before a holy, just loving God to answer for the things done in this life they would not (most of them) do the terrible things they do.
