The book will be launched at a special event at How We Roll Café, Tathra, on July 24.
Continuing the story from Ms Pouliot’s previous novel, in When You Find Me policewoman Rhiannon McVee navigates her way through corrupt inner Sydney culture while searching for missing persons.
Ms Pouliot’s writing has generated plenty of interest.
After her first novel was released - which was inspired by her cousin’s disappearance - the police reopened Ursula’s missing person case.
To coincide with National Missing Persons Week on August 1, Ms Pouliot is also holding another Picnic for Missing, which she launched last year.
For this event, Ms Pouliot is inviting friends and families of a person who disappeared without a trace to get together at a picnic and remember that person missing from their lives.
The picnic can be held anywhere on August 1 – Ms Pouliot herself will be holding one for Ursula in Kings Cross, Sydney.
“The idea is that families can have a picnic wherever they want, somewhere that means something to them,” Ms Pouliot said.
Ms Pouliot is already writing the next instalment in her book series, but she said she was unsure if it would be the last or not.
“The storylines and characters keep coming and while they do I think I will keep going,” she said.
“The fact that so many people are enjoying my books is really an inspiration to keep writing.
“Through fiction, my books highlight all the different effects of when someone goes missing – not just on the person themselves, but also on their family and the police.”
Melissa Pouliot will launch When You Find Me at How We Roll Café, Tathra, on July 24 at 5pm.
RSVPs are appreciated for catering purposes, and these can be made to the café on 6494 1248 or by emailing mp@melissapouliot.com.
