The Tigers host Bega Roosters in three grades and will have a tough time against the visitors, who lead the competition in the under 18s, reserve grade and first grade competitions.
The Tigers ran out of puff against Bombala in the 38-18 loss last weekend and will look to shock Bega at home.
Tigers’ captain/coach Mason Harrison said “the boys played their hearts out” in a game where they lost players to injury early.
“We lost two players, Andrew Stewart and his brother Leonard, to injury,” Harrison said.
“We went into the second half down a few players and we had nothing left in the tank.
“Bombala were really fired up and kept at us.
“We couldn’t capitalise on anything, being down on troops.”
Harrison said Michael Tadich “had a really good game” and Baden Payne and Jacob Hill were two younger guys that stood out.
Looking towards the Bega game, Harrison said he hoped Jack and Kane Leggett could return from injury.
“It’s 50-50 with them; if they come back it will strengthen our forward pack and that’s where we could beat Bega on the weekend,” Harrison said.
“Bega is on top in three grades, so we’re in for a big weekend.”
A win would give the Tigers some late hope for a semi-final berth.
“We’re only just out of the top-five,” Harrison said.
“If we can turn it around and beat Bega, we’re still a chance to make the semi-finals.
“First grade is in for a big clash; Bega is the top team and everyone is keen at training to get one back at them.”
