The award is targeted at young people who are contributing to Landcare activities and initiatives in the local area.
The aim is to recognise the efforts of young people and the encourage them to get involved in Landcare activities.
Chairman of the Far South Coast Landcare Association Chris Post said Luka received the award for his involvement in a school-based traineeship at The Crossing Land Education Centre and “his enthusiasm and efforts in making a difference to the local environment".
The award is named after Geoff Morris, former Bemboka resident and Landcare advocate who had a keen interest in getting more young people involved in Landcare work.
As part of the award, Luka will receive $500 worth of sponsorship towards outdoor or environmental education of his choice.
Luka is keen to use this opportunity to complete a Wilderness First Aid course later this year.
