This year the best dressed was transvestite, Conchita, with some truly striking gowns and the worst was not a contestant – though some were close, but one of the three hostesses, and for who watched, it was the one of the right in the short skirt.
Julie Zemiro and Sam Pang are as bubbly, excited and as knowledgeable as you would wish as SBS presenters and although much of the Eurovision Song Contest is in English it does help that Zemiro speaks a number of languages.
Then there are the acts.
I must admit I sulked after the first semi-final when the act I liked didn't get into the finals, but no-one could fault the Swedish entry that came first.
It was all class with its handsome singer, great song and the graphics, and let's face there's not much about Eurovision usually that you could say is classy – kitsch – brassy – over-the-top definitely but great fun.
I am in awe of the stage management where everything goes so smoothly.
Terrific show and the Australian entry, Guy Sebastian, did a good job.
Love the way the points are given at the end and how countries slide up and down the leader board.
Looking forward to next year's now.
THERE’S been a lot of tears on House Rules (Prime), nearly as many as in Masterchef.
Many belong to whining Tiarna who is competing with her father.
It was their turn to have their house done and the reveal was on Sunday.
Right throughout the renovation the other teams kept on saying this one was special as it was just such an emotional one as Tiarna, her brother and her father had lived there with her mother who died some years ago.
The only problem was that Tiarna no longer lives at that house.
Her brother does as does her father, his partner and their young son.
The other problem was that Tiarna and father wanted the place to look like a display home and how unemotional is that.
I wonder what the husband’s partner thought of all this carry-on and obviously no say in the house rules.
CATCHING Milat on Prime was very good indeed.
I was going to give it a miss and just watch a little, but I stayed glued and was very impressed.
Really excellent Australian drama well-acted and well produced.
