Political disclosure
I am concerned that your editorial policy requiring people writing letters to the editor during the election campaign must acknowledge their political affiliation does not appear to apply after the campaign.

Bega District News published a glowing endorsement of Mr Constance on May 7 written by Maggie Havu.
What Ms Havu failed to disclose was that she was Mr Constance's campaign manager and obviously a member of the NSW Liberal Party.
I have no personal grievance with Ms Havu and in fact have met her on a number of occasions during the campaign and admire people who actively engage in the political processes of our country.
I would just ask that political propaganda be identified as such.
I am proud to identify myself as the partner of Leanne Atkinson.
We members of the Country Labor Party are extraordinarily proud of what this working mother was able to achieve in swinging back 11 per cent of voters towards our policies and principles.
Unlike Mr Constance, Ms Aktinson had no slush-bucket of money to fund expensive television commercials and newspaper ads.
She campaigned the hard way for over 12 months by meeting people in the streets, holding public forums to understand the economic pain that people living in our region experience and proposing grass root solutions.
Over the next four years we will watch closely the promises that Mr Constance and his team made during the election.
The most incredible over-the-top promise of a new Clyde River bridge was made; by the next election in four years’ time I'll promise that we won't have seen a single sod of dirt turned.
Let's not forget Mr Constance's failed promise for the Dignams Creek deviation that never eventuated in his previous four year term.

Cheering for more
My first Spectrum Theatre experience had me wanting more.
Congratulations to the team that put Cinderella together.
We laughed and laughed and booed and hissed.
A great performance to say the least.
Very professionally presented and a performance worthy of being played anywhere.
Well done everyone, I don't think there was a soul in the audience that did not enjoy this wonderful performance.
The ugly step sisters were by far our favourite characters.
The modern songs to an old story was a fantastic idea and the choice of songs was perfect.
Again congratulations on a wonderful pantomime.
I hope you are packed out for the rest of the performances.
I can't wait for the next performance.
Thanks everyone in Spectrum.

Door knock appeal
I AM writing on behalf of The Salvation Army to let readers know that this year it is 50 years since we started knocking on doors for the annual Red Shield Appeal.
Australians have always been deeply generous to The Salvation Army.
We thank your readers for the huge support offered to the work of The Salvation Army over these 50 years.
This year the simple fact is that the need for funds has never been more desperate.
The Salvation Army now helps more than one million disadvantaged Australians every year.
People who are hungry, abandoned, abused, homeless or facing all kinds of crises.
Sadly for many individuals and families right now, hard times may literally be one pay cheque away.
We know that many Australians are doing it tough.
The Salvation Army does everything it can to help people in need.
In a typical week we provide 100,000 meals for hungry people, 2000 beds for homeless people, distribute up to 8000 food vouchers, provide refuge for 500 victims of abuse and much more.
We need funds to continue our critical work to help put lives back together.
We need donations so we can continue to provide refuges for women and children in crisis, help people with homeless shelters, assist families in need and much more.
We are always focused on the word hope.
The Salvation Army is an army of hope.
To donate to or volunteer for this year’s appeal, please call 13 SALVOS (13 72 58) or online at salvos.org.au.
You can also donate in person at any Westpac branch or post a cheque to Reply Paid 87088, Silverwater, NSW, 2128.
On the weekend of May 30-31, volunteers will be knocking on doors.
It goes without saying we are deeply grateful for whatever support readers can give.
