But mum of three Sharna Bates of Coolagolite needs a little help to get her 5-year-old Aleyathiah to school.
The little girl was born premature with a large tumour on her posterior, so large it was actually almost as large as the little baby herself.
Aleyathiah still needs lots of medical attention, requiring ongoing treatment all the way up in Sydney.
In fact, Sharna and her partner Jake Spears are up at The Children's Hospital at Westmead this week getting more treatment for their little girl.
“Our daughter has just turned 5, she is a beautiful, loving little girl that wants to start school with her friends,” Sharna said.
“Sadly we were unable to start her this year because of health problems. She now is unable to wear undies like all her friends and we have to have our third bottom reconstruction operation this year.
“We are hoping that our little princess is able to wear undies.”
Sadly because her family have to travel over five hours for all her doctors and specialists, they are having trouble paying for day-to-day items such as food, clothes for the kids, travel expenses and more.
Aleyathiah's first mini operation is on May 25, requiring the family to be up in Sydney for the best part of a week.
Dad Jake has even had to take time off work due to all the travelling, which means loss of wages for the family.
Aleyathiah’s younger brother Thor is 4 and has autism and OCD, so he does not cope well with having to go away all the time.
Sharna and Jake’s new 6-month-old baby Klovah is “as easy as a 6 month old could be but still has her days”.
The family has raising funds through the internet and would really appreciate any support from the community.
