There are holes and graffiti on the roof, and when Bega Hospital Auxiliary members came to open their street stall in it on Friday morning, the struts supporting the window wouldn’t open.
Bega Valley Shire Council general manager Leanne Barnes said she had someone looking at the kiosk and would get a report on the situation.
Bega Auxiliary vice-president Dorothy Mullaney said the council had been very supportive of them, sending down two men to open the window in the morning.
“It really badly needs attention,” she said of the kiosk.
“We have been using it for 15 to 20 years that I know of.
“It’s a community thing - it’s not just for us.”
Ms Mullaney said the group uses the kiosk whenever they have a street stall, and other groups such as ones from churches use it as well.
She said it is a “handy little shop” for fundraising activities, such as for the auxiliary’s efforts to raise $50,000 to buy TVs for the South East Regional Hospital.
