Teachers and parents urged students to "make Miss Scott proud" as they returned from school holidays to a classroom without their favourite teacher, Stephanie Scott.

The popular drama and English teacher at the central western NSW school was allegedly murdered during the school holidays by school cleaner Vincent Stanford.

Students have shown their courage, bringing plates of food for morning tea on Tuesday and walking arm-in-arm through the school gates still adorned with yellow ribbons and floral tributes.

One mother arrived with a sketch of Ms Scott that her daughter, a year 9 student, made.

One teenage student, Bree, had earlier posted online that Ms Scott was an amazing teacher who was there for her when she had no one else.

"You were the most amazing teacher ever thanks for everything and thanks for being there for me when I had no one," she said.

The school has promised round-the-clock support for students as parents and staff grapple with the difficult task of guiding children through tragedy.

Seventeen counsellors will stay with students from years 7 to 12 on Tuesday as long as needed. They will "assist teachers with questions and providing relevant information," the school posted on its Facebook page.

On Wednesday, the school will partially close while most teachers will attend Ms Scott's funeral, to be held at the Eugowra function centre where she was due to marry Aaron Leeson-Woolley on April 11.

The school said it would be "the most difficult week of school life for both students and teachers".

Some parents said this month that their children were too devastated to return to school, knowing she wouldn't be there.

One parent told students to "make Miss Scott proud as she watches over you all".

"If you see someone struggling show them some compassion and let them know they aren't alone," she posted online.

A former student, Cindy, posted online that "Miss Scott will be watching over you all".

The school urged students to band together this week: "For Steph. For our school. For our town. For each other".

"Rest assured, if you stumble or fall, you will do so into the safe hands of many who care about you," the school posted on its Facebook page on Sunday night.

Ms Scott's sister, Robyn, told students that Ms Scott would want them to be strong.

"Just remember what my beautiful sister Stephanie loved. Teaching all you amazing students and seeing your smiling faces," she wrote in response to the school's Facebook post.

"You are the ones who made her want to be the most amazing teacher, friend and person she could be."
