Dangerous surf conditions are expected to remain in the area during the next few days as a southerly moves towards the Mid North Coast.
Conditions will be hazardous for coastal activities including swimming, surfing, and fishing from exposed areas such as rocky shores and wharves.
The southerly swell was expected to reach up to three metres Monday and build to five metres on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Bega Valley Shire Council will continue to monitor local conditions, and the two wharves will be closed until conditions ease.
The Bureau of Meteorology expects conditions to improve later this week.
The Locavore cafe at Tathra Wharf and the Merimbula Wharf Restaurant will remain open during periods of closure.
