Bemboka driver without a licence for 60 years
Article, click here.
Probably a better driver than most who hold a licence these days. Pity he got caught
Karen Taylor
60 years and someone ran into him? Now that's just bad luck!
Frank Weiss
I was fined over $500 for being 3 days overdue with my licence a few years ago…I wonder what he was fined?
Wandaful Wendy
Incredible luck but also an incredible lack of conscience.
Sherry Lucas
"Legend" give him a medal not a fine
Jason Whitby
If he went all that time n never got caught her probably drives better than we do
Nancy Aikin
It's still wrong, we all have to follow the law so why shouldn't he?
Sue Brown
60 years of safe driving and now the revenue hungry system will rape him for something that wasnt his fault.
Stan Lyall
Well it was his fault cause he didn't have a licence like he has only broken the law for the last 60 yrs just cause he wasn't caught doesn't make him innocent

#ThrowbackThursday: Tathra Wharf in disrepair
Article, click here.
I remember the disrepair it was in. Look now at the facelift, wow, good on you Tathra. I used to go fishing there with my Dad when I was 13.
Vicki Joy Bond
I remember before it was restored with missing decking then a few sheets of mesh to cover some holes what a spot to grow up
Ben Watson
we fished off that wharf in the 60s and 70s all the time, In holiday season people would be fishing 3 deep, Just as many tourists fished off it back then as do now, maybe more.

Easter penalty rates ‘excessive’ burden on small business
Article, click here.
Business know that they face penalty rates on public holidays and they know how many times a year...........so incorporate these added costs into your business plan and add extra onto your product all year round. People are still going to buy your pizza especially the tourists on these public holidays. Fancy paying 16yr olds $8.43 per hour, they have costs to get to work before they earn a cent
Kath Shanahan
From the information published it's unclear if businesses are losing money on Public Holidays, or just would like to retain more of the profits? Holiday seasons generally mean increased patronage and takings. The shedding of crocodile tears for youth unemployment, customers, visitors is a well-worn excuse in place of just wanting to pay less. BTW, holiday makers are slugged with paying extra for accommodation during those times, but I am yet to hear the Chamber of Commerce objecting to that practice

OPINION: Is cost of Tathra Wharf road worth it?
Article, click here.
Thanks for so clearly showing the pros and cons of all the options. We don't need more than a walking track or board walk accessible to people with disabilities.
Helen Wyatt
Leave it like it is and build a walking track somewhere else!!

TAFE loses place in education sector
Article, click here.
A terrible idea. Obviously another nail in TAFE's coffin. A sad day indeed
Suzy Whymark
I used to be a TAFE teacher 20 years ago. It was a very rewarding job mentoring young (and old) students, sharing wisdom and skills gained over 30 years. I recently applied to teach again, but now need a Training and Assessment Certificate to do that. The TAA curriculum focuses more on completing the paperwork, red tape requirements and bureaucracy than the teaching. TAFE has lost its way. Hopefully the move to the Industry sector will re-focus the teaching emphasis on attaining skills.

Wish they would just leave it alone.
