Designer and organiser Reiko Healy said the market prides itself on providing hand made products, manufactured locally.
“I just thought because Tathra doesn’t have many activities over the holidays that it would be nice to showcase all the local talent,” she said.
“I had many different ideas, but thought it would be great to support small industry.”
Visitors can peruse the stalls of Japanese art and craft, Oriental rugs, wool and wood works, maritime antiques and prints, lavender products, beeswax candles and paintings of the local Bega Valley scenery.
She has carefully selected five stalls for the weekend and many collectible items will be on show, including Indigenous art and paintings from various parts of the African continent.
Ms Healy designs and makes clothes and jewellery, her specialty being Japanese crane earrings, based on the origami of young Hiroshima victim Sadako Sasaki - they have come to symbolise the innocent victims of war.
“The crane symbolises peace and happiness, they bring good luck,” she said.
The market runs from 9am until 5pm on April 7 through to 9.
