The club has seen tremendous growth recently and current president Wayne Dunning thanked coaches and parent volunteers for their efforts through the season.
“We have grown in numbers from 32 in 2012-13 to 81 enthusiastic children in 2014-15,” he said.
Certificates and medals were presented from carnival performances, as well as some club trophies to recognise the performance of athletes throughout the year.
Mr Dunning said four youngsters were especially dedicated to their training.
Jack Grebert, Mia Waugh, Leah Bonney and Abbie Waterson were presented encouragement medallions for their efforts.
ACT Little Athletics Association (ACTLAA) medals were presented to a number of competitors, who did the club proud at regional and state carnivals.
Under 13s athletes Tarni Evans and Jedd Martyn achieved the second highest overall point scores across 100m, 800, hurdles long jump and discus events to earn a multi-event silver award.
Meanwhile, 10 athletes from the under six to under 13 age groups took on an ACTLAA carnival in Lanyon last month.
Mr Dunning said the squad was extremely successful with three breaking records on the day.
Will Kellar clocked just two minutes 52 seconds in the under nines 800m, while Kiarna Woolley-Blain scored 9.66m in the under 13s shotput and Jedd raced a one-minute five seconds 400m.
“Most of our athletes also took home place ribbons from their events,” Mr Dunning said.
Continuing the club’s success 18 athletes took on the southside two-day carnival in Canberra recently and had members break more records.
Darcy Woodley surged through the 60m hurdles in just 11.56 seconds, Tarni Evans jumped 1.63 metres in the high jump and Lawrence Davis cleared the 100m sprint in 12 seconds flat.
Based on their performances, 14 athletes qualified for the state championships three weeks later over two days at the Australian Institute of Sport.
The club awarded point scores for all events and the top three Bega athletes were Tarni, Kiarna and Taia Creary.
At the event Tarni smashed her own high jump score to break the record, jumping 1.67m.
The jump broke two records held by former club members Chloe Jamieson and Jana Ringland.
Darcy Woodley was unable to qualify as he is too young, but was presented an achievement medal for his outstanding performances at a number of events.
Under 13s athletes Kiarna, Tarni and Jake Shaw have all been selected in the ACTLAA team to compete at the Australian Little Athletics Championships to be held in Perth on April 26.
Mr Dunning said he couldn’t be more proud of the achievements by athletes this season and was already looking forward to the return of Little Athletics in October.
Club Patron Betty Rood alongside Edna and Ray Duncanson presented many of the awards to athletes.
The trio were invited to present the awards for their work establishing the Bega Athletics Field and running the athletics club over many years.
