Ten species were weighed in, among them whiting, bream, flathead, leatherjacket, snapper, morwong, blackfish and a gummy shark.
Four species topped previous records at the weigh-in and were added to the club’s blackboard.
Theo Cassidy caught a 380-gram blackfish, Brett Marr reeled in a 270-gram leatherjacket and Jorge Richo a 2.78kg gummy shark.
Junior fisho Tom Humphries collected the heaviest bream with a 620-gram catch.
He also won the heaviest fish for a junior male at his first Nelligen competition.
“Well done, Tom, your pop Theo Cassidy was very proud,” club president Brett Marr said.
Richo, at his first club competition, took home the heaviest bag, heaviest morwong and heaviest shark prizes.
A number of dolphinfish were caught but unfortunately were all between 50 to 55cm and undersized.
The club’s next competition will be held on the final weekend of March.
Registration will open at the Steampacket Hotel on March 27 at 5.30pm.
