After an outright loss to Eden on Saturday, the Bulls sit 12 points behind South Eurobodalla on the ladder.
Meanwhile, the Tathra Sea Eagles hold second place by a comfortable 30-point margin.
Clubs are awarded 12 points for a win and can also gain bonus points through an outright victory.
It will be a considerable task for the Bega-Angledale club after suffering setbacks with its batting roster.
The first part of the equation fits as the Pirates will take on the ladder-leading Merimbula Knights over the weekend and are statistically likely to lose.
However, the Bulls will face the Sea Eagles this coming weekend with the Tathra squad only suffering two losses across the season.
Martin Butchers’ 100-run haul provided the turning point for Eden to secure the win over the Bulls on the weekend.
The visitors’ first six wickets had gone cheaply, but Butchers mustered an impressive display to have his side surge to a 209-run innings.
Robbie Ringland returned the strongest result in the Bulls’ first innings with 34 runs.
However, the lower order struggled and the home side slumped to a first-innings total of just 91 runs.
The Bulls were given the chance to bat first in the second innings and jumped at the opportunity.
Unfortunately, things played out poorly as Eden’s pace bowlers brought proceedings to an early finish.
Four ducks was the order of the day in a round where just Liam Cooper was able to break double figures on the board.
Cooper managed a solid 27 runs, but was left wanting as the rest of the order struggled.
The Bulls were also short two nominated batsmen on Saturday, adding to their woes.
The Bulls hopes will be riding on their final round clash against the Tathra Sea Eagles, who had a comfortable win over the Pirates on the weekend.
After a solid first innings showing, the Sea Eagles held a 70-run lead over the Pirates at the start of play on Saturday.
The second innings didn’t fare much better for the South Euro side as the Eagles made quick work of wickets.
Russell Thomson, Dean Friskin and Elijah Blair were the only players to surpass double figures.
The squad suffered three ducks during the innings and the lower order slumped to a total of just 94 runs.
With little time to spare, Tathra returned to the crease and were comfortably at 1/29 at the close of play.
Outright points put Tathra well clear of its nearest rival, while also keeping the squad on Merimbula’s tail.
The final round of the Far South Coast Cricket Association two-day season will see the Eagles take on the Bulls at Lawrence Park this weekend.
