Just 19 years old, Molloy stopped the clock in three minutes 15.05 seconds - 11.09 seconds behind winner Claire Buchar.
It comes on the back of Canberra's Daniel McConnell and Rebecca Henderson both winning Oceania-cross country crowns in the elite men and women respectively.
McConnell finished more than 3½ minutes ahead of his nearest rival, Anton Cooper, in a time of one hour 29 minutes and 50.5 seconds. Henderson's win was also a comfortable one.
She finished in a time of 1:28:10.5, almost 50 seconds ahead of Kate Fluker.
Meanwhile, Canberra's BMX queen Caroline Buchanan finished second to Lauren Reynolds in rounds five and six of the BMX Australia national series in Perth on Saturday and Sunday.
Buchanan still holds a narrow lead over Reynolds in the series, which moves to Cairns for the next two rounds on April 4-5.
