The initiative will start on Monday, March 2, and appointments will be held every second Monday with the hopes it will expand to weekly appointments in the future.
“We’re trying to make it possible to receive the advice you need if you are living out of town and don’t have access to the internet,” Coordinator of the Women's Resource Centre Bega Gabrielle Powell said.
Advice will be provided on a wide range of areas including, family law, domestic violence, employment, tenancy, debt, discrimination and victim’s compensation.
There will be secure rooms available in Bega and also at the Bermagui Library and the Eden Access Centre, while those with a smartphone or internet at home can connect from where they feel comfortable.
Shoalcoast lawyer Lucinda Knapp visited the Bega Women’s Resource Centre as part of preperations for the outreach clinics.
Appointments for the service are necessary, and those in need of advice are urged to call 1800 229 529 or Shoalcoast Community Legal Centre directly on 44229529.
