A MAN whose car crashed into a tree near Wolumla on Monday remains in a serious condition.
The 52-year-old driver is a Korean national temporarily residing in Bega, who was returning home from work in Merimbula when he veered off the road and into a tree on the Princes Hwy, one kilometre south of Wanatta Lane.
While originally taken to Canberra Hospital he has been moved to the Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, still in a serious condition and suffering from numerous fractures as well as a possible spinal injury and injuries to the legs and pelvis.
Detective Sergeant Marks said police will be looking to speak to the man once he has sufficiently recovered, and are continuing inquiries about the incident.
“At this stage speed is not a factor under investigation, but as yet we can’t rule out fatigue,” he said.
“Police are reminding everyone to take sufficient breaks when driving, and to plan your route ahead so you can take breaks.”
