HuntFest protestors at Narooma Streetscape opening
I'm more worried about drunken violence on my streets than I will ever be by the prospect of gun violence. These people have their priorities all wrong, based on a unhealthy obsessions with something they fear, but
have no desire to understand. Hence their fear will never go away.
Rob Stevenson
Such a Great thing . I will be attending as a short holiday because of huntfest. I will be taking in the beautiful area and taking in the sights at the expo. As a keen shooter I ask the towns people to keep supporting the event as it is our sport and like any other sport / hobby open days ,expo, markets displays are available.
Please note if you own a Restaurant , Hotel/Motel bakery or any form of bussiness and do not want the event in the area to let us all know here so we can spend our Dollars with someone who supports us

Those, what, 18 people...they represent the bulk of the community do they? Strewth, Eurobodalla's population has dwindled some. Must be rising sea levels. How very revealing it is that on a day when half Christendom was headed to Narooma anyway for the Streetscape launch, all SAFE could muster was a rogues gallery of a dozen or so usual suspects. The effort demonstrates two things above all else - they represent no-one but themselves and care nothing for the true majority view.

Ok this huntfest brings people from all around Australia to spend money in our area to help small business owners get through the rough winter! its about education not about wrecking our area! its about how to camp hunt without distroying it!

Do your sport somewhere else. Not down here on our peaceful nature coast. Go back where you came from and leave our little paradise alone
Mischi West
Animals have been killed on the coast for food for many tens of thousands of years .only the methods have changed.Mischi West so I suggest you move to utopia or wherever it is that you dream about
Iain Saunders
Oh wow. Such passionate views. This debate ignites a response surely because there are deeper ideological conflicts involved. Anyone care to venture what they might be?
Richard Barcham
Seems to me that the mojority of people who support Huntfest come from the Bega Shire. Wouldn't it be more sensible for the organisers to move it down there

Trade sanctions, tourism boycott calls over Bali Nine executions
Threatening them with trade sanctions is a band aid solution. All that does is prove that drug traffickers are more important to us than foreign trade, therefore giving the drug traffickers the belief that the death penalty doesn't apply to them. You travel to a foreign country, you accept their laws.
Enough already
Marketplace parking limits not to all staff’s liking
With the planned reduction of parking spaces in Littleton Gardens Carpark in the next stage of it's redevelopment and the small increase in the not timed Gipps street car park, the lack of long term parking for business owners and employees in the CBD is becoming more evident. The vacant block of land next to Plumb motors in Auckland Street, if purchased by the BVSC, would cater for present and near future long term parking.
Peter
Rabbit has often wondered..."where did all the cars park before sapphire marketplace opened?"... it was only a few years ago....more cars, more p platers, more population? Or could it be since the opening of the plaza there are many more people shopping in Bega?
The Bermagui Rabbit
I agree with the parking permit (for the roof), but for this to work the parking inspector has to patrol the carpark in the mornings before school to ensure workers aren't abusing this privilege by allowing their family / children use of the permit.
Hopefully the parking inspectors can also fine people for ####y parking efforts. It's one park per car... not two.
3 Hour Parking is fine
Minimum working shift is 3 hours, if you get to work 10 minutes early and its 10 minutes after your shift finished to when you get to your car, you are over the 3 hour parking limit by 20 minutes. How lenient will they be toward workers? You don't get a break on a 3 hour shift. If you have to pay a parking ticket every time you work there would be no point in working! If they're going to have a limit make it 4 hours - you legally get a break then and would be able to move your car!

Just wondering will the new Bega Civic Centre building have a carpark available to the public in the event of a function/concert during the day that goes longer than 3 hours?
Narelle Spence
I think there should be a toll way in and out of all town exits. Home owners have to supply infrastructure to holiday makers and visitors to town. They come here for free. The workers of Bega who need parking all day will be punished. Give all workers of the CBD a parking pass, like council workers.
Donny Ryan
Is it really necessary to place a time limit on the car park? I've never had trouble finding a car park there.
Holly Woods
If employers outside the Centre don't have a responsibility to provide parking for their employees, what makes Sapphire Marketplace have that responsibility?? Remember the Chamber themselves were encouraging town staff a few years ago to park at the netball courts
Jason Lewington
The Sapphire Marketplace should be employing their own Parking Officers and should NOT be funded by rate payers via BVSC. We are just subsidising more big business.

TripAdvisor announces world’s best beaches
I have been to a hell of a lot of beaches from here to Townsville, love the beaches here by far. Always amused when I visit Nelsons , the car park is always full of Victorians...and hardly any nsw plated cars at all. My other favourite beach is Stockton beach near newcastle where you can drive on the beach and used to be able to camp on the beach, would be nice if council / npws open beaches to 4x4s. Would see more people come to the area
