Bega Valley Shire Council general manager Leanne Barnes said streaming will become available when meetings relocate into the new council chambers.
She said the BVSC had looked at installing streaming in its current building, but it would have been a waste of money as they would be moving out of it soon.
Ms Barnes said the new council chambers were due to be finished this year, however she did not have an exact date as designs still need to be finalised.
As some Eurobodalla Shire ratepayers have to travel large distances to attend a council meeting, the live streaming service aims to allow more people to access the meetings.
Reporting on shire’s major projects
BEGA Valley Shire Council will now publish quarterly reports on a number of major projects in the shire to keep the community informed of what is happening.
The council has noted the first report and it is now available on the BVSC website for the public to view.
General manager Leanne Barnes said it was decided in the December 2014 council meeting to report on the major projects happening around the shire.
“This is a simple and effective way for the community to keep track of how we are progressing with our major projects,” she said.
“Typically these projects are resource heavy and tied to major operational outcomes so it is important that the community be informed.
“Some major projects listed in the first report are the Bega Civic Centre, the Tura Community Centre and Library development and the four town centre designs.
“Comments are made on each of the projects in the report, stating what stage they are up to and if they are reaching their target.
“For example, the Bega Civic Centre works are on target and lighting and sound professionals have visited the construction site and provided input.” Ms Barnes said.
The Major Projects Report can be viewed online at www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au.
