Ms Britton was a much-loved member of this close-knit community and since her death there have been hundreds of tributes on social media by those who knew her well - and those who didn’t know her at all.
They all express their sadness and share their love and prayers with Ms Britton’s family.
Along with these messages of love and support there have been offers of assistance to her grieving family from far and wide in many forms, from the practical to the financial.
Meals have been cooked, groceries and drinks (some amber in colour) provided, housework done and funds donated towards the Jacqui Britton Dunning Memorial Fund, all of which is greatly appreciated by Ms Britton’s family.
More than 3500 likes, as of Thursday lunchtime, on the memorial fund Facebook page created by family friend Zoe Philipzen shows just how much Ms Britton was loved and will be missed.
Then there is the amazing amount of money that has been donated, with over $11,000 raised as of Thursday morning.
Despite having to come to terms with her own grief, Jacqui’s older sister Emma has been keeping track of all the social media activity, responding to many of the comments and offers of assistance.
Bega Valley Public School principal Carolyn Nugent posted “Yr 6 Students at Bega Valley PS want to fund raise for this important fund and will host a disco next week and a dress up day. Such caring kids aware of our community”.
To which Emma replied, “Wow! That's beautiful. Thanks so much.”
Early Wednesday morning Emma posted ”2800 likes beautiful sister, now just imagine if everyone donated just $5! Ryan and Jacqui’s mortgage would be taken care of for a little while and he can focus on his babies! My sincerest thanks to everyone who has shared this page and donated! It's amazing. Jac would be shocked!”
In the words of one of Ms Britton’s many friends: ”Such an amazing community to be a part of. It's like an extended family. Something to be proud of!”
Donations to the Jacqui Britton Dunning Memorial Fund can be made online to: BSB 112 879, account number 493962750, or at any St George Bank branch.
Along with creating the memorial fund Facebook page, Ms Philipzen is also organising two more fundraisers for Ms Britton’s husband Ryan and their two girls, Matilda and Charlotte.
The first will be on March 7 at Fat Tony's in Tathra from 2-5pm at a cost of $20 a head, which includes finger food and a drink and entertainment by Jason Heffernan.
The event will also include a mini market day with the profit from all products purchased on the day going directly to the memorial fund.
This will be followed at a date yet to be announced by a band night at Tathra Hotel.
“By doing this Ryan will be able to focus on his family,” Ms Philipzen said.
