POLICE have charged a P-plate driver after his car rolled down a hill and crashed into a police vehicle on the weekend.

Shortly after midnight (Saturday, January 31), Bega police patrolling near Gillards Beach allegedly observed a utility driving with unrestrained passengers in the rear tray.
Police pulled over the utility on a steep incline in Campground Rd.
Before they could approach the utility, it rolled backwards down the hill and crashed into the police vehicle.
Police spoke to the driver, an 18-year-old man with a provisional driver’s licence.
The man submitted to a road-side breath test, which allegedly returned a positive reading.
He was arrested and taken to Bega Police Station, where a blood-alcohol analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.132.
The man has been charged with mid-range drink driving and was granted conditional bail to appear in Bega Local Court on February 24.
No-one was injured during the incident, and the police vehicle received only minor damage.
ON FEBRUARY 1, a 23-year-old Victorian male was spoken to by police and was subsequently charged with possession of unregistered firearms, possession of ammunition without a permit and not keeping a firearm safely.
He will attend Bega Local Court in March.
A 21-YEAR-OLD Bega male will face Bega Local Court in March in relation to incidents arising after a routine traffic stop.
He has been charged with resisting and hindering police as well as common assault.
