Proud dad Corey said Lincoln,14, had signed the paperwork a few weeks ago and will line-up with the Roosters’ under 15s squad.
Corey said it was emotional to see his son take on the same jersey he proudly wore.
“It sure was, his pop, my father, played for the Roosters and so did I,” Corey said.
“The reaction has been great and they love him there.”
Lincoln will line-up with the Harold Matthews Shield squad in a season that runs from February through to late May.
There is no doubts about the young stars NRL aspirations and he hopes to impress selectors with his play.
“He’s looking forward to playing some good games this year to show them he is ready,” Corey said.
“He hopes to maybe play one game of SG Ball this year.”
As a 14-year-old Lincoln represented his home club of the Eden Tigers in first grade matches previously and Corey said the youngster showed no fear on the field and would tackle the big boys.
“He’s not afraid to play up a few years and take on the big guys,” he said with a laugh.
Lincoln is up in Sydney training with the club and is already reaping benefits from the drills.
“His body is changing so fast, but he is just loving life and everything going on around rugby league at the moment.
“He is developing as a professional young footballer.”
Mum, Robyn, too is delighted about the signing with the Roosters and Corey said she was a driving force in support of Lincoln’s move.
“She is ecstatic about it, she has been pushing him and making sure he is on task and ready to go,” Corey said.
“His mum is definitely his support team, while dad is just sitting in the background,” he said with a laugh.
Lincoln is in safe hands, too, with management from Steve Deacon of Sports Agents Australia.
Deacon played as the other centre for the Roosters when Corey was with the squad, but has moved into a management role.
Lincoln isn’t the only player signed on with Deacon, who also manages Tom Hughes among some other rising talent.
“He’s doing a great job,” Corey said.
“He’s got a handful of young kids coming up – he’s very well and respected in his management and he’s committed towards their careers.”
Another highlight for Lincoln is his selection to the under 16s NSW Indigenous side, which will take on Queensland as a curtain-raiser for the All Stars game.
The match will take place from 4pm at Cbus Stadium. Queensland on February 13.
With a recent surge of players from Group 16 finding success at the top level, Corey said it was showing for the region’s talent.
“You’ve got loads of talent, but not too many scouts come down this way to give them a chance,” Corey said.
“Group 16 might be a small rugby league group, but we dish out the talent down here.”
