“We’re stoked to be coming along to the Bega Cup to give out sunscreen slops and have some kids activities,” Cancer Council NSW community relations coordinator Sarah Flynn said.
“We might even be lucky enough to get a visit from Sid The Seagull for the kids!”
Joining Ms Flynn will be some volunteers from the Bega Valley Relay for Life committee, and members of the Cancer Research Advocate Bikers who will be selling raffle tickets in their major draw this year – the chance to win a boat, trailer and fishing accessory package worth over $10,000.
“The whole team are very much looking forward to the day, and we’re proud to be associated with such a great community-minded organisation, the Sapphire Coast Turf Club,” Ms Flynn said.
Community fundraising events help the Cancer Council NSW contribute $14.8million towards research projects in a single year in NSW.
So head along to the Bega Cup and bring along some loose change to grab yourself a raffle ticket that helps fund a cure for cancer.
