Code of conduct
There have been several letters from John Richardson on behalf of the BVSRRA in relation to the council’s code of conduct, which was developed by the Office of Local Government and is the model used to guide local councils state-wide.

Council adopted the code and is guided by it and the administrative procedures also developed by the Office of Local Government and adopted by the council.
The code applies to councillors and council staff acting in their official capacity in the way in which they represent to the public and certain rules are set out for complaints, their consideration and review.
John Richardson has stated that he has lodged a complaint under the code on behalf of
Mr Wheatley in relation to the access to Mr Wheatley’s property.
This is not a matter that has any application to the code of conduct and has been responded to accordingly.
It is a matter that rests with adjoining landowners for their resolution.
The assessment of the development application and the issuing of development consent 2008.0085 was determined and approved under the requirements of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 in 2008.
In relation to the complaints lodged under the code of conduct, relating to Councillor Tony Allen, by four parties - one of which was John Richardson on behalf of the BVSRRA - I would simply say the code and discussions held in closed session of council meetings require confidentiality and binds the council accordingly.
The code does not bind any of the four complainants to confidentiality and should
Mr Richardson wish to print all or any of the information he received which was presented to council, he may do so.
I would simply suggest that he be transparent in what he presents and circumspect as to the consequences.
