Fling’s Summer School has been running at the Bega Indoor Sports Centre since Wednesday, with hordes of children learning new steps and dance moves.
The three-day program concludes on Friday with a small performance for the parents of the participants.
“It’s a chance for kids from the community to get active during their holidays, and have a taste of performing,” Fling’s associate director Gabrielle Rose said.
The children were learning from such performance fields as contemporary dance, physical theatre, circus, hula hoops and musical theatre.
Ms Rose said the children cycle through each field, to give them a taste of different styles.
Around 40 kids between the ages of seven and 16 attended the annual event on Wednesday, and students had the chance of attending the whole workshop or just one day.
Teachers included past Fling alumni who have gone on to work or study in performance arts, such as Patrick Meessmann, Sebastian Rideaux, Olivia McPherson and Krista Dodsworth.
Enrolments for the 2015 season of Fling begin on January 31 with an open day held at the Bega Indoor Sports Centre.
