Mr Rodwell has what he believes is the wheel from the first motorised vehicle used in the Bega Valley.
He discovered the back wheel on a farm in Bemboka some years ago, but the whereabouts of the rest of the vehicle are unknown.
Interested in cars and vintage machinery since the 1950s, Mr Rodwell is currently writing a book about local historic vehicles and is keen to know more about the car this wheel once belonged to.
Cooma-based Mr Rodwell belongs to several car clubs including the Antique and Classic Car Club and the American Antique Vehicle Club, but is most passionate about local group the Sapphire Coast Historical Vehicle Club (SCHVC) in Pambula.
Mr Rodwell is donating his sizable collection of antique vehicle parts to be displayed at the Pambula clubhouse.
If you know anything about the first car in Bega or can help Mr Rodwell out with information about the wheel, contact the BDN at ben.smyth@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
