Studies show dancing can help you boost memory, diminish depression, improve balance, lose weight, stay flexible, increase energy and reduce stress, as well as make friends and be social - which leads to increased happiness and a stronger immune system.
No Lights No Lycra (NLNL) has the belief that everyone can dance.
NLNL is a global dance community providing an inclusive and non-judgmental place for people to explore this notion.
No Lights No Lycra is a dance night that was started in 2009 in Melbourne by dance students Alice Glenn and Heidi Barrett and recently seen on ABC's 7.30 report.
There is no light, no lycra, no teacher, no steps to learn, no technique, just free movement to hits from the 1960s, ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s and the ‘noughties’.
NLNL is a place where you can completely let go and shake out the stresses of the week in a friendly, non-threatening, drug and alcohol free atmosphere.
It’s a place to experience new tunes and revisit old favourites, sing along, a time to lose yourself in the music while working up a sweat and getting some exercise.
Through word of mouth the night has grown into a global community who share a passion for this experience.
It’s an experience for all body types, fitness levels and anyone who loves music.
It’s a place to experience movement without the pressure of being watched.
Your body will thank you.
NLNL Cobargo is starting with an event on January 15, from 8-9 pm.
