The trio joined their fellow scholarship holders for the program’s first training camp in Goulburn over the weekend.
Athletes underwent a skills assessment session on Saturday conducted by internationally qualified hockey coach Brent Deans, with the assistance of hockey coaching consultant, Robert Apps.
Level four International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) senior coach Susan Fulop then took the athletes through a sprint and agility session focusing on running technique.
A skills session with Deans and Apps followed before the athletes transferred to Goulburn Workers Club, the sponsors of the program, for a media skills session with communications consultant Cathy Reid.
On Sunday, athletes participated in physiological testing and movement screenings conducted by the academy’s athlete performance specialist Courtney Porter.
SERAS student interns Scott Reaper, Katrina Mason and Kate Woolfe from the University of Canberra assisted with the testing.
The remainder of camp was devoted to skills development with coaches Deans and Apps.
The squad will come together for a training day in early February to continue preparations for their regular local seasons.
