SAPPHIRE Coast Anglican College ended its school year with the presentation for junior and senior students last Wednesday.

The junior school presentation included a drama production, “A Christmas to Believe In” which involved the junior school choir and students from pre-kinder through to Year 6.
Certificates of excellence, commendation and citizenship were handed out to the students and the junior school leaders for 2015 were announced. They are Alanna Dummet (school captain), Ella Burke (vice school captain) and house captains - Isabelle Pamplin (Nicholls house), Felicity Dowd (Flynn), Elizabeth Milton (Booth), and Laura Putvinas (Court).
Bouquets were presented to teachers Rebecca Miller for her role as acting head of junior school and Verity Kean who is leaving the school.
A bouquet was also for head of junior school, Laura Austin, who is currently on maternity leave, for completion of her Masters degree.
The senior presentation followed featuring a number of excellent musical items including the Dixie Chics song “Travelin’ Soldier” performed by Jake Whyman and Brittany Meers, “Daichevo Doncheno” (traditional Bulgarian), and “Rondo a la Turka” (Mozart), String Ensemble performed by Jye Turner, Emma Chihumbiri, Gian Hofstetter.
Gian Hofstetter also performed “Classical Gas” (by Mason Williams) and “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” was performed by the college guitar ensemble of Dave Crowden, Brodie Johns, Eric Hills, Meg Hawken, Gian Hofstetter, Jules Roches and Felicity Dowd.
Special guest at the presentation was Able Seaman Acoustic Warfare Analyst Submariner and past SCAC student, Guy Bootes, who presented the Long Tan awards.
The end of school activities also included a visit by the junior school choir to the Sapphire Marketplace where the group entertained shoppers with Christmas carols and songs they had learned during the year.
