Staff at Canberra-based construction company Monarch Solutions have stripped off with only the tools of their trade between them and the camera for a fundraising calendar.
Money raised will go to mate and co-worker Gerald “Geza” McClinton, who is still recovering from a brutal hit and run in 2013.
Mr McClinton, who grew up in Bemboka, was run over by a taxi driver in March 2013 and sustained serious injuries.
Since the accident he has endured 12 major operations and a multitude of skin grafts, and has further surgery planned in 2015.
He has been left with large medical and other bills since the accident and co-workers came up with this novel solution to raise money.
Monarch workmates and contractors posed with various props for the calendar, which has models from 22 to 65, and although nervous, calendar coordinator Marisa Maganto said “they all had a lot of fun with it”.
“Gerald has recently started back on a return to work program at Monarch Solutions that has very restricted hours and tasks that he is allowed to do,” she said.
“But we can’t forget that he’s endured horrific injuries mentally and physically that no-one deserves and we want to give him a hand.”
GM Assistance has been set up to make and promote the calendars, which are being sold for $20 each.
“Please help us to help Geza get back on his feet by buying this fabulous calendar we have put together,” Ms Maganto said.
