The local Ulysses riders are hosting their own toy run on December 13, with all toys collected joining the pile under the BDN Christmas tree upon their arrival in Bega.
Anyone with a licence and a motorcycle is invited along for the ride with club members - the more the merrier!
“All motorcyclists are welcome and encouraged,” Ulysses club president Kate Spears said.
“The speed of the ride will be limited to 80kmh, so no matter what level of rider you can join in.
“It will be a nice cruisey ride to Tathra and all good fun.”
Ms Spears said 65 riders took part last year, decorating their bikes and themselves!
They “rattle the can” along the way as well as collect donations of toys.
Ulysses secretary Bruce Bearman said “not that we need an excuse to go for a ride”, but last year’s toy run resulted in several thousand dollars in cash donations and about $3000 worth of toys, which is then split between St Vincent de Paul Bega and the Bega Hospital Auxiliary.
“We are all about making the community aware riders aren’t all horrible and scary,” Ms Spears said.
The ride on December 13 starts from the corner of Lamont and Wallaga St, Bermagui, at 9am for a 9.30 departure.
From there, riders will make their stops at Tathra opposite the bakery from 10-10.30am, Market St, Merimbula, from 10.50-11.20am, Oaklands Pambula from 11.30-noon and finishing in Littleton Gardens Bega at 12.30pm.
Everyone is invited to join in.
