For years now, I have always felt Bega lacked a little in the “Christmas spirit” compared to most towns up and down the coast.
It was so wonderful to see the VRA putting them up.
My kids were very excited to see Santa, the reindeers and snowman on the shop rooftops.
Seeing the smiles on children's faces is what it is all about.
Merry Christmas.

Bermagui G20
I was watching the opening address of the G20 Summit by the, some people's Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
I was surprised, but not disappointed, that he did not mention to the world leaders the grand progress the new Bermagui Woolies was making, or as is sometimes said that, "it is good for the town" and consequently "good for humanity".
I would not have been surprised, however, to hear that he later told US President Barack Obama, that if he was to ever to come back to Oz one day and find there is no longer a Great Barrier Reef, that he could always make his contribution to the betterment of mankind by going shopping at Bermagui.

Alcohol potential
The current debate against a Woolworths liquor outlet in Bermagui has virtually stated that we get a better class of alcoholic if we maintain the status quo.
Well the last time I checked alcohol is alcohol and we should be prepared to supply it to the less fortunate at a cheaper price so that they too can reach their full potential as alcoholics.

Fuelling truth
Good to see Woolworths Petrol management are keeping up the tradition of charging country motorists more than they should....or could.
Before they came they would tell us how good they would be for the locals, you know, jobs etc.
Now we know the truth…oil at a five-year low and has been on the slide for months and how much has Woolies reduced the price at the pump?
Two cents.
It would be interesting find out what the average price drop of petrol at Woolies metro service stations and even more interesting to find out why they have not done the same for us country motorists.
I have sent them an email asking just that and await with interest their reply.
