ON FRIDAY, Member for Bega and NSW Treasurer Andrew Constance hosted a lunch in the Stranger’s Dining Room at Sydney’s Parliament House where he shared the news of his recent engagement to Batemans Bay local Jennifer Clark and addressed the diners about the state of NSW’s economy.

About 150 diners consisting of businessmen, politicians, former politicians and constituents of Mr Constance’s Bega electorate heard that NSW was faring well, living within budget and had managed to maintain its AAA credit rating where other states had not.
With four months to go until the next state election, the treasurer spoke of NSW’s future and the government’s plans to maintain a sound and buoyant economy that was growing by 2.5 per cent.
He outlined how the government planned to recycle money from sale of the state’s electricity assets and put $20billion towards more productive infrastructure that would generate 50,000 more jobs.
Another issue he said the government needed to address was Sydney’s traffic congestion, which was constraining and holding the state back and that the government was looking into investing into a second harbour crossing to address the issue.
