Casuarina supervisor Annette Robertson said for various reasons previous volunteers have been unable to continue providing enjoyment to the residents, so more are required.
Those wishing to donate their time can contribute in many different ways.
They can play music for the residents, help them with art or go for walks around the gardens.
Volunteers can even just sit, talk or read to the residents as Ms Robertson said they all enjoy hearing about what is going on in the community.
She said many residents like to do craft but need backup, such as having someone to sew up their knitting after they are finished.
Ms Robertson said whatever time volunteers have to spare is fine, and if they would like to contribute they can coordinate which days, how often and what time they come to Casuarina.
“Any volunteer that comes would have to put in a volunteer application and have a police check,” she said.
“Then they can put in whatever time they can.
“Whatever they’ve got available is great.”
Benefits volunteers bring to the residents including helping them enjoy their free time, Ms Robertson said.
“We have staff to assist with keeping them occupied, but if we’ve got volunteers here it adds a bit more enjoyment to their lives,” she said.
If anyone has their own ideas or skills they think would be suitable to entertain the residents, Ms Robertson said she is happy to hear them.
