Wolumla horse owner Janice Northey was again before Bega Local Court for a brief mention on Tuesday.
She had previously appealed her April conviction over the multiple counts of “failing to provide proper and sufficient drink to an animal” in which she was ordered in her absence to pay almost $60,000 in fines, vet bills and court costs, banned from owning horses for 10 years and surrender all horses in her care.
In late October, District Court Judge Robson upheld the appeal, saying her failure to appear in court for her sentencing was due to intimidation and fear for her safety, remitting the matter back to Local Court.
On Tuesday, Ms Northey entered not guilty pleas on all charges and the matter was adjourned until January 27 so fresh briefs can be prepared.
