The group held a special picnic to celebrate Hug a Runner Day in Merimbula on Friday and an eager group of 18 took part.
Named a Go Hard event, the night included a run from Spencer Park to Main Beach and then back for a picnic.
“Among the group were three generations of one family,” group organiser Louise Loudon said.
“And a very keen young cyclist accompanied his mum on the run.”
A number of spouses also joined in for the picnic on the night.
Loudon said she was excited about the growing popularity of the group.
“It will enable more networks to develop that will provide support, motivation and encouragement of women’s health and fitness,” she said.
Loudon has also been heading up a regular group meet she has dubbed the “couch to five kilometres”.
The group is now in week five of the eight week program and has shown some tremendous improvement.
“With three weeks left to go we are starting to think about our graduation run,” Loudon said.
