Two local juniors Jayden Heyhorn and Alexander Eadie are also scholarship holders in the program, which met for the final time this year in Canberra.
Athletes participated in physiological testing and movement screenings conducted by the academy’s athlete performance specialist Courtney Porter, with the assistance of SERAS student interns Vanessa Gaynor, Scott Reaper, Michelle Moore and Bethany Taylor from the University of Canberra.
Athletes were provided with individual feedback regarding their progress over the past two months.
The squad then transferred to the AIS to undertake a balance, coordination and flexibility session with Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) coach Olga Karelina.
The remainder of camp was devoted to skill development with club development coach and former state representative, Lorraine Rae. \Assisted by former Australian representative, Northey, the coaches took the athletes through the main shots required in squash and focused on refining their technique.
Following individual coaching and feedback, athletes put these skills into practice through game scenarios.
This program will now go into recess until nominations are called for in July next year.
