Open up Merimbula's public green space.
Once again this council is showing great leadership in this matter.
Since the ‘70s, some residents of Eden have been living, sitting on and playing in the old Eden Tip Site, yet the Merimbula Green Space is out of bounds.
Give us a break and open this space up now for all.

Power bill scam
I have just found an old electricity bill which was very informative.
In 2003 the charge, depending on retailer, for on peak electricity in our area was around 9.79 cents per KWh and off-peak 4.2 cents, exclusive of GST.
The price now is 33 and 12 cents respectively.
That shows what attempting to ineffectively and unnecessarily deal with climate change plus an avaricious State Government is costing us.
That is an increase of approximately 3.4 times or close to 31 per cent a year.
The daily charge for being connected (an outright tax as all cost are covered in the unit price of electricity as shown by "NSW Auditor-General's Report to Parliament | Volume Four 2012 | Electricity Industry Overview" pie chart p.9) went up at a similar rate.
They itemise everything that is covered in the electricity price.
According to the above-mentioned NSW Audit Office publication (p.14) the annually averaged wholesale spot price (AAWSP) for electricity in NSW at the time was three cents per KWh.
Also, according to the pie chart on page nine of that overview, 25 per cent of the price to users covers the AAWSP of electricity generation.
That leaves a considerable amount unaccounted for.
If three cents per KWh is 25 per cent of the price then the total price should be 12 cents per KWh instead of 33 cents per KWh.
Is the difference finding its way into NSW Government coffers?
The AGW scare can be of use to unscrupulous people.
The Labor government started this apparent scam and the present cash-strapped government lets it continue!
This hits those on the lower economic strata of our society and our unfeeling State Government allows this to continue - in fact has increased it.
We have many people in fuel poverty - that is they cannot afford to heat their home and buy sufficient food as well!
Sure, the State Government provides a minuscule reduction to those on low income, but it is minute compared to the gross overcharging involved.
It is time for the State Government to consider the little people.
How are you better than the previous government, which one of your members when in opposition, attacked on the issue (recorded in Hansard)?
It is time for you to stand up for your constituents and our industries which suffer from electricity overcharging!

Answering machine
Can you explain that lately we all use the phone to get somebody and all we get is a machine answering?
Not a person-to-person anymore, but a machine.
No wonder people get annoyed that they can’t talk to the person to whom you want to.
It’s a damn nuisance and through no fault of yourself.
PS: It takes twice as long if you are talking to a machine, which normally is a 1300 number and more expensive than a normal call.
