Nicki Hall of Bega has taken out the $1000 first prize for her work Sandigo Creek and Raewyn Lawrence of Moruya the $500 second prize for her work River Tree.
Eurobodalla Shire Council Mayor Lindsay Brown said the prize was tightly contested after voters chose their favourites during visits to the popular Basil Sellers Art Prize exhibition.
“Both Nicki’s and Raewyn’s works are very different but demonstrate excellent craftsmanship and were clear winners with visitors,” Cr Brown said.
“We look forward to the next Basil Sellers Art Prize in 2016, which will once again celebrate the region’s artists.
“We are confident that the competition will continue to be fierce, the artists’ inspiring and that Council again present another excellent exhibition.”
The Mayor thanked all the participating artists, individuals and volunteers.
“Your generously donated time ensured the exhibition was open for the community to enjoy,” he said.
