1. Tathra’s Halloween fete
Tathra Public School’s annual fete on Friday will have a Halloween theme this year.
The fete will be officially opened at 4.30pm and for three hours children, parents, grandparents and the public will be kept entertained with various displays and activities.
There will be food, craft and book stalls, a haunted house, face painting and photo booth, chocolate wheel, kids’ disco, fortune teller, jumping castle, games and magic by Rhys ‘The Trickster’ Davies.
2. Coinspiration at Spiral
Coinspiration is a joint exhibition of recent works by Miriam Kydd and Graeme Smith, artists from Tulgeen Disability Services’ Art in the Garage Project.
The exhibition is guest curated by Iain Dawson, the Bega Valley Regional Gallery curator.
All are welcome at the exhibition opening on Friday at Spiral Gallery in Bega from 5-6pm, with the show continuing through to November 12.
3. Can Assist at Collinswood
The annual Can Assist Open Garden Day at Collinswood on November 2 promises to be bigger and better than ever with some added attractions.
The Sapphire Coast Historic Vehicle Club will have a display of beautifully restored cars adding to the Porsche Club and Twyford’s vintage trucks of previous years.
On the day the Wyndham Basket Makers will be joining the Candelo Quilters and Bega Floral Art Group to show off their work.
As well as this there will be the usual food stalls and barbeque.
Visitors can enjoy all of this while wandering at their leisure throughout the beautiful gardens.
Collinswood is situated at 1339 Candelo-Wolumla Road and will be open from 9.30am-2pm.
Can Assist provides financial support to cancer patients in the Bega Valley and their families.
4. Bega Valley cricket
There is plenty happening in the Far South Coast Cricket Association competition this weekend.
Bega-Angledale will meet the Merimbula Knights at George Griffin Oval, Bega, on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the Tathra Sea Eagles will take on Eden at Lawrence Park.
5. Native Orchid Show
The Sapphire Coast Orchid Club will hold its annual Australian Native Orchid Show this weekend in Merimbula.
The show will be held at Twyford Hall from 9am-4pm on Saturday and 9am-3pm on Sunday.
Entry at the Australian Native Orchid Show is free.
