Member for Bega Andrew Constance said the two-hour course, Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers, will offer parents and supervisors hands-on advice to provide the most effective driving practice for learner drivers.
“I would encourage all parents and prospective supervisors of young drivers to take the opportunity to attend this workshop and help better prepare yourself for the task of instructing our next generation of road users,” Mr Constance said.
The course covers topics such as new laws for learner and P-plate drivers, using the Learner Driver Log Book and planning on-road driving lessons.
Parents and supervisors who have attended this course found it boosted their confidence, helped them better plan driving sessions and allowed them to share experiences with other parents and supervisors.
The course also reinforces the important role of families in providing ongoing support for young drivers in the early years of driving.
Bookings for the Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers course – to be held at SCAC on Wednesday, October 29, from 5.30-7.30pm - are essential and can be made by calling Donna Jordan on 4221 2592.
The course is part of RMS’s commitment to provide high-quality infrastructure and services to the South Coast community.
